Sporting Lagos in winning debut at NPL

The noise in Lagos is still rousing as latest sensation in the city, Sporting Lagos won their first ever Nigeria Premier League in their debut outing with Gombe United.

They won 2-0. Rivio Ayemwenre put the Lagosians ahead in the 42nd minute when he connected with a header, a cross from Christian Nwoke.

Clement Nantuam doubled the lead in the 71st minute.

A chance for Gombe United to reduce the deficit was lost when Mojeeb Odufeso lost a penalty kick, six minutes into the added time.
