Davido to perform live at “A Night to Remember” themed World Cup closing ceremony

Nigeria’s music icon, Davido who is one of the music icons of the Qatar 2022 World Cup is set to thrill global audience on Sunday in the closing ceremony that will precede the World Cup final match.

He is one of the artists from official soundtrack that will  raise the curtain ahead of Argentina versus France match. The theme of the performance is “A Night to Remember” and will reflect on the tournament through music and poetry.

The gates to the Lusail Stadium, venue of the events will open at 2pm local time, which is 12 noon in Nigeria. Fans are expected to take their seats by 30 minutes after the gates to the stadium are opened.

After projected 63 matches that include the third place encouter of Morocco and Croatia and a month of thrilling action on the pitch, Argentina and France will meet this  for the ultimate prize of the 2022 edition of the FIFA World Cup.

While the game kicks off at 6pm local time (4pm in Nigeria), fans have been advised to take their seats by 16.30 local so as not to miss the stunning closing ceremony that promises to stay forever in the memories of the 88,000 spectators expected at Lusail Stadium.

Following an opening ceremony that celebrated bridging the gaps and getting to know one another beyond our differences, the final ceremony will last 15 minutes and reference the world coming together for the 29 days of the World Cup through poetry and music.

“A Night to Remember” will wrap-up with a mashup of songs from the Official Soundtrack that marked memorable moments of the tournament. Performing live to the stadium crowd and global audience, Davido and Aisha will sing ‘(Hayya Hayya) Better Together’, Ozuna and Gims will do ‘Arhbo’, and the full female lineup of ‘Light the Sky’ will be present with Nora Fatehi, Balqees, Rahma Riad and Manal.
