Almost in the same manner that the UEFA Champions League’s theme song has captivated the global football audience, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) may be thinking in similar direction.
An anthem has been released. It is composed by Henoel Grech.
He explains the idea of the theme song. In a YouTube video, Grech said the composition began in his studio. “I sat beside my keyboards and let myself be carried away by my emotions, my thoughts and my feelings. This is the purest moment of creativity.
“Because I really become one with the music. When I was called to commission the anthem of the African Football League, I immediately felt a huge responsibility on me because Africa is the continent of the future.
“An here begin the most magical component of my work…building a team around me such as Stefano Proietti who is my arranger and orchestrator, Giovanni Cannarozzo who did all the editing and mastering.
“And from Cameroon, a fantastic singer: Spirit-T. And all together, listening in the recording studio the orchestra playing the melodies you created with almost 100 elements between choir and musicians.
“All together playing your music. I can’t describe to you the emotion I felt that day. It was truly a dream…a dream come true.
“And I hope the African Football League audience will be able to feel even a small part of the emotion that I felt. That will be the most beautiful gift for me.”
